The Knit has gone Crafty

Having dabbled on occasion with some of Helen's card making bits and bobs, I have made the odd card , not I might add, with the same inspiration as she displays. When visiting her one day recently, we finished up colouring with watercolour pencils and the result was a little notebook, simple but effective! I was quite pleased with it, but I was thrilled with my next sorte into the world of Crafts.. A gift box basket! I would not have believed it possible. It was thanks to Helen and her booking me a place on a craft morning with herself and her friends. I was in shock when I saw what we were going to make, having expected just to be producing a card! Due to the kindness and patience of the other ladies present, I managed to make something just as good as the demonstration model, to look at anyway.. Hope you agree? It is even better in the flesh, or should that be in the card...

My first post!

Hi my name is Patty and this is my first post on my blog. I would never have dreamed I would be doing this three years ago when my daughter first gave me some needles and wool as she thought I might enjoy a little knitting. I began slowly with squares which I had no idea what I was going to do with. After a Eureka moment they became a pram blanket for my new grandaughter and there was no stopping me!

My daughter gave me some Jean Greenhowe booklets and I have been knitting little people and animals ever since. Lots of them were given away, then because I received such good feed back I made some as special personal gifts. My sister then bought me an Alan Dart book which gave me even more to go at. Now I have to have something on the go all the time to fill any empty moments in the day. I knit in quantity but not in great size as I like to see the results come together fairly quickly. Lately I have found I have a little collection gathering which prompted my daughter, who has her own cards and crafting blog, Ellephantastic Cards & Crafts, to ask if I would like to have my own blog. This is the result, my five minutes of fame! Enjoy...
